JAMESON BLACK BARREL APPLE BARREL

For the second year in a row, I’ve teamed up with Jameson Black Barrel, a proud partner of Movember.  Since 2003, millions have joined the movement to help fight against prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and poor mental health. Together, we’re here to start bold conversations about men’s health.

In 2009, my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer. A month later, he had surgery, began hormone therapy, and started the grueling recovery process. Fast-forward 7 years to the week after his 76th birthday: his prognosis is good, and the cancer undetectable. Cheers to helping men (like my dad) live happier, healthier, longer lives!

In collaboration with Jameson and in the spirit of Movember, I’ve whipped up this bold cocktail. From the spicy and smoky aromas of the whiskey to the fresh citrus and apple cider, the Jameson Black Barrel Apple Barrel is full of some of my favorite fall flavors. It’s the perfect accompaniment to any holiday feast!

INGREDIENTS:

1 ⅓ oz Jameson Black Barrel

½ lemon, juiced (or 3/4 oz) 

½ oz sugar syrup (2:1 syrup)

⅓ oz Creme de Mure

Top with apple cider

METHOD:

Combine whiskey, lemon juice, sugar syrup, and Creme de Mure in a shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously. Pour over an iced-filled glass and top with apple cider. Garnish with a slice of apple.
