Years ago I began my search for the “perfect” chocolate chip cookie. I was recipe testing for the opening of my new café and bakery and found that I was having the most difficult time finalizing my cookie recipes. COOKIES! The most elementary of baking tasks, yet I was completely stuck! Why? Because chocolate chip cookies […]

Decadent… cant wait to make them!

Beth Ramos - February 28, 2015 - 4:17 pm

Josh, you are THE BEST!!! It’s a snowy day, so, maybe, when I finish chores, I should just fire up the oven and try this out! I only have milk chocolate chips, but that just means another attempt later! Thanks for sharing your perfect recipe!

Judith Parent Marcero - March 1, 2015 - 4:48 pm

Being the cookie baking Grandma, I can’t wait to try these!

Kaye Lynn Meyer - March 2, 2015 - 11:50 pm

I officially tried them and they are delicious. I was intrigued by the use of bread flour and cake flour and I liked the outcome. If you are considering trying the recipe I highly recommend it.

This is it, this is the recipe. No more searching for recipes for the perfect chocolate chip cookie. Since they have come out of the oven my family has been eating them. Worth the wait overnight. The step I missed was preforming the dough 40min after they were in the fridge.( I read things to fast) The dough was hard to scoop. I put the dough in the microwave for 10 second increments until it was ready to scoop. 4 x 10 seconds and I was on my way to scooping. Well done Josh, you did it. 🙂 I can see this recipe being passed down for generations. Seriously….. Ok Whats’ next?!

Caroline BeGole Sa - April 20, 2015 - 8:36 pm

I have made these cookies for three weeks now. Yesterday I for some reason added 1 cup + 2 tbsp milk. No idea where my brain was reading that part of the recipe. That was for the chips. I was not sure how they were going to turn out… I just made them and they are just as good just flatter!! Whew….

Ayelet Maman - April 27, 2015 - 5:05 am

i have made them yesterday-fabulous! my kids were in heaven. Thank you!:-)

Chris Scheuer - June 8, 2015 - 3:43 pm

Looks inviting and the process is clear…Why not use Mauritius Good Sugars, 100% Trinitario Chips and Marisol Hand Harvested Salt – The quality of ingredients can perhaps make Grandma’s more clearly 2nd best? Made some this weekend with Mauritius Molasses Sugar, Marisol Medium Milled and Luker’s Selva Chips – So fine – Will try these in your recipe!

Kay Weems - August 13, 2015 - 11:48 pm

Hi Josh…I measured, sifted, and measured again and then the party started! Just placed the bowl of dough in the fridge and set the timer for 45 minutes to begin scooping. The dough smells delicious! I was soooo tempted to take a big spoonful but opted for a small taste instead. Not sure how long these cookies will last, once baked! 🙂

There are so many good chocolate chip cooie recipes that it can be hard to choose, but this one sounds like a winner.
